Privacy policy

This is a provisional policy while 24c is in preview. It explains what the service does today; we will review it before a wider release.

Who we are

24c is a small independent service that draws weather and calendar dials for watches and the web. In this policy, “24c”, “we” and “us” mean the 24c service. You can contact us at mat@24c.day.

What we collect

Account data. Your email address, sign-in sessions, and the plan and settings attached to your account.
Calendar data. If you connect Google Calendar or an ICS feed, we read the calendars and events you choose so we can draw them. We store the event details needed to render your dials, such as titles, times, all-day status, colours and calendar names.
Weather locations. The coordinates and place name you ask a dial to show, so we can fetch the forecast for that place.
Device data. Read tokens, device model, display settings and request logs needed to serve a watch or browser.
Payment data. If you subscribe, our payment processor handles your payment details. We receive subscription status, not your card number.
Usage data. Basic request logs and aggregate analytics used to keep the service running and understand what is used.

Google user data

If you connect Google Calendar, 24c requests permission to read your calendars and events. We use that data only to show your calendars on your 24c dials and in the 24c account pages. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect Google Calendar from your 24c account. Disconnecting stops future calendar reads; you can also ask us to delete stored calendar data.

Why we use it

To provide the dials, account pages and calendar features you ask for.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To process subscriptions and prevent abuse.
To diagnose failures and improve the service.
To comply with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run 24c, including hosting and storage, Google Calendar for connected calendars, a weather data provider for forecasts, and our payment processor for subscriptions. They receive only what is needed for their part of the service. We do not sell personal data.

Retention

We keep account and calendar data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups and legal obligations. Cached weather and rendered dials are kept for at most two days. Operational error logs are kept for up to 30 days, and aggregate traffic analytics for up to three months; product analytics events may be kept longer in aggregate form. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data.

Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls and short-lived sessions. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your data and to limit what we keep.

Your choices

You can access and update your account settings, disconnect calendars, and ask us to export or delete your data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under data-protection law. Contact us at mat@24c.day.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. The web client may keep dial pictures and settings in your browser so it can load faster.

Children

24c is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top says when it last changed. If a change is material, we will make that clear on the site or by email.
