Legend

What you are looking at

A 24 hour board for one airport: every expected arrival and departure as a short radial tick at its scheduled time, with the other end of the route written as radial text at the same angle but a different radius. A revised time is a line to the new estimate; an actual time is a line to what happened. Departures run in the outer lane and arrivals in the inner one, each airline in its own colour, with the wind that decides the runway drawn around them. The closest airport is chosen from the dial's place. Not a flight tracker and not a booking board.

Every expected arrival and departure, as a short radial line at its scheduled time

Departures outside, arrivals inside: two lanes you can read across the day

A revised or actual time is a line to the new tick, not a changed schedule

The route written radially at the event's own angle, and a colour for each airline

Your calendar still comes with it, on the rim and in the centre hole

The sun's rim

The sun's rim showcase

The sun's rim

The rim is the day's light: daylight, both twilights and night, above the airport's day.

Daylight showcase

Daylight

The sun is up, and the day's own rules apply.

Civil twilight showcase

Civil twilight

The blue hour: the sun is down, the sky still carries colour, and lights start to matter.

Nautical twilight showcase

Nautical twilight

The next step down: the horizon is still there, but the day is over.

Night showcase

Night

The sun is well down and the sky's warmth is gone.

Time on the dial

The hours showcase

The hours

The ticks and numbers around the rim are local clock time: one full turn is one day.

Solar noon showcase

Solar noon

The dots on the rim mark the sun's highest and lowest points, so the clock's noon and the sky's noon can be told apart.

The clock shift showcase

The clock shift

The line where the clock shifts: the hour the zone changes inside the day.

Your calendar showcase

Your calendar

Arcs at the top of the day are events from a connected calendar, hung where they fall. They are not the airport board.

The hour spokes showcase

The hour spokes

The spokes mark every hour and the dashed spokes every half hour; the one circle outlines the centre hole, as on Events. The board's two lanes sit between them.

The weather

Wind sock showcase

Wind sock

Each sock points downwind, and its orange and white bands count three knots each. The line below it is the day's wind, with the gust area above.

The strongest wind showcase

The strongest wind

The number near the rim is the day's highest wind speed, printed where it peaks.

The airport

Arrivals showcase

Arrivals

The inner lane is arrivals: a short radial line at the scheduled time, the origin airport in radial text at the same angle but a different radius, and a line when the arrival was revised or actually happened. Lane, not colour, separates arrivals from departures.

Departures showcase

Departures

The outer lane is departures: a short radial line at the scheduled time, the destination airport in radial text at the same angle but a different radius, and a line when the departure was revised or actually happened. Lane, not colour, separates arrivals from departures.

Airline colour showcase

Airline colour

Each airline has its own colour across both lanes; the tick and its airport code share it. Colour is the operator, not the direction.

Revised time showcase

Revised time

The grey line runs from the scheduled tick to the new estimate; its far end is the time the board now expects.

Actual time showcase

Actual time

The green line runs from the estimate, or from the scheduled tick when there was no estimate, to the time the movement actually happened.
